Sunday’s open mic session at The Basement Bar was another wonderful afternoon/evening. Organised by Steph Bitter and the InAct Oz team, it featured the highly respected and entertaining father and son duo of Chris and Josh DeAraugo – the crowd even managed to pull out some of Chris’ classic originals!
16-year-old aspiring rapper Dylan Igoe impressed the crowd with his original rap music and was lucky enough to win the gift voucher from Muso’s Stuff.
Other artists that played included Bendigo blues favourite Bill Barber, who came to test out some new originals. Toby Mobbs from Albury, NSW was in town for the weekend and also came along to strut his stuff.
Brent Clark was a favourite with his saxophone and looped guitar, and even the bartender, Andrew Gillespie, got up for a song!
The next open mic at the Basement Bar will be held over the Bendigo Blues & Roots Festival weekend as part of the festival, on Sunday November 12th from 5pm. With so many incredible acts in town, it’s the perfect chance to get to meet some of them and hear them play all in the one place!
